Snapshot Overview of the recent Spirit Journey to Ladakh 2014
It’s been a few days since most of the crew left Leh, and Chetana and I have been having some relaxing times wandering the back-lanes of Leh getting reacquainted with each other. It was such a wonderfully huge time with everyone on the Journey, now that its over I’m enjoying to take a bit of time to digest what just happened.
Naturally, everyone has had their own journey, and probably many journeys within the Journey, so I’m sure there are aspects for some which are still being integrated. I know from past experience this process can take weeks or months, and is a beautiful part of the travel experience. Re-integrating the aspects of ourselves that get revealed in these powerful situations is a precious journey in itself, and I’m sure you will come to appreciate this over time.
From my side, I want to thank each and every one for being so amazing, and for allowing the magic of India to flow with us through our travels and especially our challenges. I have never seen so many people in one group affected by illness, nor so strongly, as happened with us. And yet, it seemed to be absorbed and integrated by our group as part of the Journey, and was accepted with such grace. This in itself showed me the quality of the people I was travelling with.
Having Kevin hold space for us was a tremendous blessing and I know each of us received so much from his music, and from the gentle sharing of his presence amongst us in so many ways. Shenteh’s combination of youth and wisdom often captured the essence of our journey together, with her cheeky grin and sensitive hugs at just the right moment.
And at the end of the day, what stands out for me most strongly in reflection, and in the photo’s I’ve seen shared… is the joy, love and laughter in each person’s eyes. I truly hope that this continues to ripple forth into your lives, as it does in mine. Luckily, there is so much sharing of images and comments on Facebook it feels like we’re all still connected and moving together into our lives along side each other… well, for those of us on Facie that is.
Just in case you’re missing out, check out the links below… there’s a lot of action and a lot of fun lovin joy being shared.

Tips for the Boys
Tenzin, Kuldip and The Bus Drivers
As promised, I have set up a special page on the Yak Trak website for the boys to get tips and people are already generously getting into that donation button. Here’s the link for you to send some financial love to the boys who made it all so smooth: http://yaktrak.com/homepage/tips-boys/
What can I say about Ronny, except that I am SOOO glad he was there with us! Such a truly heart centred man who gave so much just by being himself. I hope that all of you got to spend a moment sharing with Ronny, and if you did, you will understand why we want to support him in the next phase of his life. Same page as the previous Tips for the Boys, but a separate button, please help him with a few coins to support him on the way: http://yaktrak.com/homepage/tips-boys/
As with the boy’s tips, all the funds raised here will be sent directly to Ronny, and we hope that he joins us again on the next adventure into the mountains!
We’ve spent quite a few moments pondering the shape of the next Spirit Journey, and it’s shaping up to be a 3 week adventure with 2 sections that will start in July 2015.
Full details about this is now available here: http://yaktrak.com/package/spirit-journey-to-ladakh-2015/
